Why see Umphrey's McGee?

Genre-Benders Umphrey's McGee Tour The US

Blurring the lines between alternative rock, jazz, funk, metal, bluegrass, and other genres still, Umphrey's McGee exploded out of the contemporary Jam Scene in the late Nineties with an inimitable fusion of improvisation and progressive rock that was influenced by the likes of King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd and Frank Zappa.

Don't miss the group as they set out on the road again, when the six-piece will be taking on the US, bringing you favorites and classics alike! The ultimate genre-benders, you can be sure each show is a unique experience!

Great performance but Sound was terrible!

Superb artistry in music and lights but major fail with the sound. We had seats in the balcony and the bass level was so strong the whole place was vibrating and muffling the sounds of the instruments. It didn’t seem to be coming from the percussionists or the bass guitar but perhaps just the volume was not appropriate for the venue. Excellent show otherwise. ... Read more

... UM played this evening, became an epic, with the energy and sound and playing building to a impressive, mind blowing peak. It's something they do really well. They showed it little, but they were playing their 4th show in 4 nights. But the near capacity crowd's energy gave a boost for sure. Kris on drums was his usual jazzy active self, although he took no lead vocal duties this night. Ryan and Andy on bass and percussion rounded out the super solid rhythm section. Umphrees is a band with a sense of humor, which I love, and Brendan seemed quite sincere when he thanked the audience on a final night of a West Coast portion of their tour, where they must have been dog tired. Very happy with the Observatory and the service we received. ... Read more
